A Unique Genius
As you think through what you’d like to do with your life, have you ever considered being a Unique Genius?
Granted, the market is small and hard to break into. There aren’t many positions currently available for Unique Genius, and most places aren’t hiring.
That’s because once folks find their Unique Genius they tend to keep them around for a long, long time. In fact, one of the issues we see in our current job market is that Unique Geniuses are kept in their roles for far too long and by the time organizations realize it’s time for a change the damage has already been done.
But don’t despair.
While the roles are few and far between, they are also becoming more common in this relatively volatile vocational atmosphere.
If you can get work as a Unique Genius the benefits are fantastic. In addition to an extremely competitive salary, you get insurance, dental, and retirement savings matching.
Paid time off is available whenever you need it. As a Unique Genius the work you do is so important and ground breaking that it should under no circumstances be disturbed by the minutiae of daily life. And likewise, the extended rest or immaculate vacations you take are justifiable because of the heavy burden you carry.
You may qualify for even more than is normally offered to others. It will likely be determined that you should just take as much as you want, due to your elevated status. You are also provided every manner of resource and personnel deemed necessary to complete your projects.
The work itself is also highly satisfying. Wherever you happen to be placed - whether it be artist, business executive, clergy, or leadership of a large group - people will have high expectations for you. And as a Unique Genius you will consistently meet these high expectations, even when you don’t. The important thing is to avoid professional endeavours that involve some objective measure. As long as you keep things loose and breezy, fun and subjective, the folks around you will see your so-called “failures” as masterful strokes of long-game genius beyond the comprehension of those less intellectually endowed. Ordinary people are not so smart, so in time even your setbacks will become revealed for the visionary successes they were.
It’s wonderful to see people finally coming around and realizing you were right all along. That every dump you took was a golden sample, worthy of being preserved in a jar. That every thought you ever had is publishable and valuable material for others to study. More than just “a job”, being a Unique Genius is a calling and something that can leave you with a deep sense of fulfillment. You made a meaningful contribution to this world and that is a beautiful thing.
Truthfully, the hardest part about being a Unique Genius is simply convincing one person you are a Unique Genius. But once they believe, it’s pretty simple and straightforward after that. They’ll go around telling everyone about you and those people will spread the message to even more people. Even those who doubt whether or not you’re really a Unique Genius will be uneasy and unsure of themselves.
Maybe you are one? Who knows? It doesn’t seem to be true, but after all, so many people are saying it. Could they all be wrong?
Don’t worry about these folks too much. Their belief or non-belief won’t make much of an impact. You are on to bigger and brighter things, a satisfying career in the prestigious field of being a Unique Genius.
